I had a moment earlier as I fed them before bed. Morgan has a football game tonight so I was on my own for the bedtime routine. He usually leaves around 5. As the afternoon rolls into the evening things can get a little hairy in the Asay household. It seems like right after dinner they start getting fussier and fussier and want someone's undivided attention. Ok if there are two of us, but when it's just one we'll just say it gets a little crazy. Once we get into our routine of bath, book and bottle things just seem to fall into place. Tonight was a bit different because as I bathed Wyatt, Avery was in the crib awaiting her turn while crying her little lungs out. Trying to make the bath enjoyable for Wyatt is not the easiest when you have a screaching (yes, screaching is what it sounds like) little girl in the background. We did our best and when it was Avery's turn for bathtime Wyatt repaid the favor. I kept my cool and continued on with the routine. We usually feed them on our bed for their last bottle of the night and so I continued with the routine. I propped each on their own pillow (mom's and dad's of course) and proceeded to give each their nighttime bottle. As they finished the last drop they each slowly closed their little eyelids and dosed off. They were adorable - so content after filling their bellies. I wanted so badly to go grab the camera, but couldn't pull myself away from their content little bodies. It's in these moments that all the craziness fades into the background and I am reminded of how special it is to have these two in our lives!
Here's to more happy moments!
