My little Zoologists!

One of Avery and Wyatt's favorite places to go is the zoo.  This past week we visited the Indianapolis Zoo over my Spring Break.  Dad took a personal day from work to join us and we could not have picked a more perfect day.  Some of the key exhibits we had to hit were the elephants, the penguins, and for Wyatt we could not miss the warthogs!  Daddy found out that the new warthog exhibit had opened and showed Wyatt the pictures prior to our trip.  He could not stop talking about those warthogs.  We could barely get through the first few animals fast enough either.  For an unknown reason, Wyatt has taken quite a liking to the warthog.  He began asking us to spike his hair like a warthog and always asks the hairdresser to do the same.  The first time he did she had to come over and confirm that he actually asked to have his hair done like a warthog.  For Wyatt, we were sure to spend ample time at the warthog exhibit.  Avery was happy at all the exhibits, but I think she enjoyed the lions most.  Daddy had some fun playing the National Geographic photographer and captured some fun pictures of some of our favorite sightings!

Last summer we visited the zoo with our Aunts and cousins.  I had Morgan take a shot on this trip to mark the changes that 8 months has brought our way! I'm so blessed to have such a wonderful family.

Around the Block

Wyatt made his first successful trip around our block!  As fall came to a close and the weather took a turn for the worse, we reluctantly packed away our bikes and called it quits until spring.  However, the weather has been a little crazy this winter and in January the kids were able to play outside with little more than a fleece jacket on.  We pulled out the bikes and Wyatt took another try at pedaling around the block.  As of October he hadn’t been able to make it all the way around, but this time we were able to celebrate as Wyatt pedaled around the last turn.  Congratulations to my “little” man.

First Snowman of the Year!

Our first snow of the year was so exciting for the kids.  Dad got them geared up from head to toe, with the icing on the cake being their new hats that Aunt Kristen got them for Christmas.  For gifts this year I made snow man kits and I think I was just as excited as the kids were to see how our family snowman turned out.  The kids did a great job helping out for the snowman’s bottom half, but got distracted by making snowballs, licking snow off their gloves, and intentionally falling down in the snow.   But doesn’t  Daddy make a great snowman.  We can’t forget Rowynn – she had a blast watching the kids from the window while mommy snapped pictures of everyone!

I don't think they could be any more adorable!
