I had to share some of the fun little phrases my wonderful toddlers have been sharing with us. After learning to talk just over a year ago it seems their vocabulary and speech has sky rocketed!
Just the other day Avery was trying to do something on her own and started to have some trouble. Wyatt jumped right in to help (and she actually let him help) and after completing the task said "Easy Peasy Avery" after which they both giggled and Avery repeated, "Easy Peasy!"
We potty trained Avery about a week ago. Her excitement was at its peak on the day we started when she got to wear her "big girl" underwear. We had talked up being a "big girl" all week, but after about an hour she had a mini meltdown and exclaimed in a loud, yet teary voice, "I want to be little! I want to be little!" In truth I would love her to stay little, but their's just no turning back!
We were sitting at the dinner table last week after our potty training boot camp. Daddy sat down and exclaimed, "I'm pooped!" Avery quickly turned to him with a concerned look and asked, "Daddy did you poop in your pants?"
The kids and I were upstairs. I was putting away their clothes and making beds while they were playing "shooter" (shooting guns and chasing each other). Avery broke away from the fun to play with her baby doll while Wyatt still ran around shooting us and other items. Avery ran after him yelling, "Shooter, look at my baby!"
Last night we were driving home from a dinner outing with some friends. Rowynn began to cry in the car and as they always do, the kids wanted to sing to her. Usually they sing "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star", but on this occasion Avery was looking for a different song. She couldn't remember the words and had asked me to sing it, but I had no idea what song she was talking about. I would name a song or sing the start and she would loudly exclaim, "NO!" after about 3 or 4 songs we heard Wyatt in a whisper say, "Guys....guys! She did it by herself" He was so observant of his little sister, Rowynn, and had noticed that she had already fallen asleep. So sweet!
