It has been a crazy week for us. Wyatt came down with a fever on Monday afternoon and it didn't take long to get him into the doctore. He has ear infections in both ears as well as a sore throat and is just now showing signs of feeling better. He has been snuggly, then cranky, sleepy, cranky, snuggly and cranky some more. His exploratory nature has been switched off and you can really tell he is not himself.
Last night was an interesting evening for us. Morgan had a wrestling meet so I was on my own with both A & W for our nightly routine. It consisted of a lot of crying from Wyatt - he cried through dinner, through after dinner quiet playtime and then through most of the bedtime routine (which I started almost an hour earlier than usual). We did enjoy our bath and then finally he was pacified with his bottle. I can't forget my sweetheart Avery, who has been a little jealous of Wyatt's snuggle time. She made it through most of the evening with a smile, but made it a little difficult when Wyatt got extremely cranky by getting a little cranky herself. She cried through the bedtime routine - minus a bit through her bath and then was comforted when we started with our book.
When Wyatt finished his bottle he rolled over on my chest and snuggled into a cozy spot to fall fast asleep. Avery took a bit longer as she finished her bottle while laying in the crook of my other arm. When she was done she grabbed her blanky and rolled over and snuggled up into my side. They looked so cozy and I really couldn't move with two little balls of sleeping babies on me so we layed there a bit more. All of the sudden Avery popped up on her bum, looked at me with sleepy eyes and reached her hand out to me. She then proceeded to crawl up onto the open half of my chest and snuggle really close to her brother and I. It made all the stress of the evening just disappear. It still brings tears as I think about how special these two are. So precious, so loving, so adorable, and all ours!
