Fall Photos

A week ago we were able to head outside and snap some photos of our recently expanded family.  I can't believe we are now a family of five!  I am loving it and couldn't have asked for a more perfect family!

First Fish

We happen to have a few small ponds behind our subdivision.  We have taken many walks around what the kids call "the goose pond" and have even watched daddy fish on a few occasions.  On this visit we took the kids to catch their first fish.  We met up with Uncle Curt, Aunt Shayla, and Dax to enjoy some beautiful fishing weather.  Wyatt was the first to snag a fish.  He and daddy were so excited as they reeled in their catch.  It was a small bluegill and, as you can see from the pictures, Wyatt was quite proud.  Funny thing was that as they were reeling the fish in the reel quit working.  As Wyatt was "reeling" in his fish, daddy was pulling the line to actually bring the fish in.  Shortly after the excitement of Wyatt's fish, mommy and Avery snagged her first catch.  The excitement was even more than Wyatt's as Avery jumped and squirmed as she reeled in her first big catch.  However, upon seeing the fish coming up out of the water onto the shore, she freaked.  Crying and holding ensued, but we did manage to snap a picture of Avery with her catch.  Heehee - sneaky mom and dad!  If you take a look at the final picture you can see that she soon got over her fear and was making faces at her fish!  Here's to many more summer days of slimy worms, scaly fish, and growing fishermen!

More Halloween Fun...

This year we decided to make Halloween cookies to share with friends and family.  The kids had a great time cutting out Halloween shapes like bats, ghosts, cats, and pumpkins.  We also decorated them with fun sprinkles and chocolate candies!  I can't wait until Christmas when we get to do it again - I'm not sure who had more fun....the kids or Mom and Dad.

Arrrrgh Matey!

A pirate, a pirate princess, and  a parrot!  What a hearty crew.  We had a wonderful Halloween weekend that began with a trip to Avery and Wyatt's sitter, Mary.  They were invited back for the annual Halloween party, and they couldn't have been more excited.  Since they have been home with me this fall, they have really missed their buddies at Mary's house.  They decorated pumpkin cookies, paraded their costumes around, and got their picture taken in front of the infamous hay bales.   Saturday we took them to trick or treat in Illinois at Grandma and Papa K's, Great Grandma and Papa Chapman's, Great Aunt Bindy and Uncle Steve's, and Great Aunt Cindy's.  They had so much fun showing off their costumes and playing with Papa and Grandma K!  Monday night we were able to visit with Great Papa Asay.  He seemed overwhelmed at his grandkids.  I know he has to miss seeing them on a regular basis.  We ended our Halloween weekend with a trip to our church's trunk or treat activity.  The kids had a blast and can't wait until next year.  Wyatt has already informed me he wants to be a cowboy!  Not sure what Avery will be, but I'm sure it will be princessy!

Happy Halloween!
