Spring is Finally Here!

Can you believe it - spring is actually here! It seems like it might stick around for awhile too. I am so excited to look out and see my grass turning green, the daffodils blooming all around my front garden, and the tulips are just starting to show their colors as well. All of our bushes and plants are showing signs of new growth and need I mention the sunshine! It feels wonderful to stand outside with the breezy spring air and the warm sunshine on my face and arms. I can hardly believe that winter was still showing it's ugly head just a few weeks ago. So much has changed since then.

Our little spring buds are growing as well and hit the 3 week mark this past Thursday. Isn't it amazing that they are already 3 weeks old. I feel like I have been a mommy for much longer, but that's only because my days and nights have run together into one big bundle. Wow...is it worth it to look into each of their tiny little faces and have them grasp your finger with their tiny little hands. They are wonderful babies with only a few fussy times during the course of a day. What blessings they both are!
Here are some pictures of Wyatt and Avery cuddling with just a few of their favorite people!

A Free Moment?????

Hi everyone! I have a free moment - can you believe it? I have a baby snuggly sleepy to my left, a husband who is getting some much needed R&R at home, and another baby sleeping soundly in the NICU. In just about 40 minutes the hustle begins again - oh, wait.....a nurse came in and disturbed my snuggly babies peaceful slumber and now I have a snuggly baby on my lap ................ and now, 4 or 5 hours later I am back on the computer and things have definitely changed since I started this post. We now have our beautiful girl and handsome little boy in the same room with us. We are doing a trial run today and tonight to see if Avery can hold her own. She was brought down at 12 and we had our first double feeding with Morgan busily getting a bottle ready for Avery and me preparing to nurse Wyatt. Along with that we had to take Avery's temperature, change both their diapers and record everything that happened on each of their record sheets. Now we have about an hour before the hustle begins again around 3 so this post will conclude here as I lie down for a much deserved rest.

They're Here!!!!

Avery and Wyatt

Wyatt Morgan Asay 5lbs 11ounces 18 1/2 inches

Avery Nicole Asay 5lbs 18 1/4 inches

Wyatt Morgan Asay (5lbs 11 ounces), Avery Nicole Asay (5lbs even). Avery is currently in the Neonatal Care unit due to her small size and lack of being able to maintain a high body temperature. Wyatt is currently doing great and is desperately missing his sister. Mom is doing amazing! She is quite a trooper. Dad is dragging along thanks to a two hour night sleep=) Thanks for the warning from everyone about that, but it didn't help. I am still exhausted.

48 Hours and Counting!

In less than 48 hours Morgan and I will be first time parents and our family of two will double! We are very anxious for the big day and can't wait to meet our two new bundles. I had my very last ultrasound today and the babies are 6.9 lbs and 6.11 lbs (our little girl being the heavy weight now!) They are both laying side ways with their heads on my left side. The poor little girl is tucked down deep in my pelvis right now - which I know is uncomfortable for me and has to be uncomfortable for her (luckily she doesn't know the difference yet!). She will be the first to come out, we are told, so that will be a blessing for her! This will be our last post for awhile until we get settled in to our new routine at home. I can't wait for all of you to meet our two new family members!

This is a fun picture - the ultrasound pictures weren't as good this time since both of their faces looked like they were smashed up against a piece of glass. This is my 36 week picture and probably my final picture before the big day! It's a good thing too because I don't think this shirt was going to fit much longer! HeeHee
