We Made it Two More Weeks!

After our 28 week appointment the twins and I were put on bedrest for about 5 days. We had a minor test run to see if I was high risk for pre-term labor and it came back negative. I have been back at work for a week and a half now, and although exhausted upon waking up each morning I have plugged along and we have now surpassed our 30 week point! It was my goal to make 30 weeks, so now we are working towards 32! I have a doctor's appointment next week so we will see how this trio is doing. The doctor has said we will deliver around week 36/37, so we literally only have 6 1/2 weeks to go before these babies join us. I hope you are all as anxious and excited as we are! Join us in our count down and keep praying they stay happy for another 6 1/2 weeks and don't try anything fancy. If there are like me THEY will want to be in control, if they are more like Mo they might just procrastinate a bit and stick it out for the whole shebang. Let's hope they are more like Mo!!!

28 Weeks

We have hit the 28 week mark in our pregnancy. Wow, has it gone fast in the last couple of months. With Christmas and the New Year we didn't realize how close we actually are to D-day. We just had our 28 week appointment this past week and were able to see both of our beautiful babies. Our little boy is quite the womb hog as he is situated throughout and our little girl is balled up in the middle out of his way. They are really getting some strong kicks and wiggles in. Most of their extremities are on the left side of my belly so they like to tickle me to sleep at night as that's the side I lay on. Since our little girl is balled up and crowded we don't have any clear pictures of her, but our little boy was caught sucking his thumb so I hope you enjoy the pictures.
Our little girl's profile and then our little boy as he sucks his thumb and then a frontal view

A Chapman Christmas

Below are some pictures from our Chapman Christmas, which is my mom's side of the family. Our tradition is to get together on Christmas Eve every year.

Pictured above are my cousins with my Grandma and Grandpa

A Shower for Two

Over the Christmas break my aunts and mom threw me a baby shower. It was so much fun as all my aunts, family friends, cousins, and the like all came together to celebrate our two little miracles!

Among the festivities were a raffle for those that brought much needed diapers, a dirty diaper identifying game (they had melted candy bars in them for us to identify), and a diapering game in which we had to clothe diaper a stuffed teddy bear. I did not do so hot on that game, but came in second on the diaper identification!

My sister picked out the decorations, which were adorable. She also sent a fun gift for the dad-to-be, which was "Daddy's Diaper Duty Tool Kit". My Aunt Cid and Jean prepared the games and favors as well as the cute diaper cake you see in the picture above! The edible cake was from our favorite cake place in Champaign - the Cake Artist. It was a lemon cake - one of my absolute favorite flavors! Oh, did I mention it was adorable!

Thanks to all that attended. The gifts were wonderful and the company even better!
