Snow Day

Today we have the wonderful blessing of spending an entire day together as a family. Both of our school's decided to call a snow day – even though the weather didn't really hit until school would have been letting out! Funny how that works. I will now have to go an extra day in the summer and Morgan loses his February built-in snow day.

We decided to head to the library this morning to get some books for the next couple of snow days we are anticipating. We are expecting 8-12" of snow and blizzard- like conditions tomorrow – another snow day? Morgan's school has already called off, but my corporation is still holding out – just kidding, I just got the text that we get another day together!

I'm so glad I picked up books for myself as well. I chose some vegetable gardening books as I pine for spring showers and May flowers. One of my life savers is a book I picked up of toddler activities. We'll see if it has anything good for toddlers who are sick of being stuck in the house with their siblings! Ha ha! I don't think anything can fix that except separation.

Snow days are wonderful as they allow time to finish those projects that may not get done on a weekend when the house needs to be cleaned, the grocery shopping needs to be done, and prep work needs to be done for school. I have been working on putting all of our pictures on CD's and then uploading new pictures to our share site to send out to family and friends. Along with that I am typing up recipes that have been torn from magazines, written down on scraps of paper and even some that have been stained with food beyond repair. Most importantly, I finally wiped down our stair banister and rid it of the wookies that had decided to take up residence there. It's turning out to be quite a productive day. All while sipping peppermint flavored hot chocolate – one of my all time favorite winter treats!

Wherever you are I hope you are enjoying your day! Surrounded by the beauty of pure white snow, family and warm cups of hot chocolate I don't think this day could be any better spent!
